Safety Warning

Blog: 31.07.2017

Multi-step unit present significant risks that make them a liability.

These units are not necessary and should not be used.

A step unit with hand rail may look like a sensible approach to employ for women to enter and leave the pool.

But, it presents unacceptable risks and does not meet Health & Safety regulations.

The act of a woman climbing up steps and stepping over the rim then down onto a step that is under the water multiplies the risk  falling or slipping exponentially.

Health and Safety officers do not want mothers in labour climbing up anything.

When not being used the step units obstruct midwives movement around the pool.

If the unit is moved away from the pool it takes up floor space and presents a trip hazard.

As you can see our approach is Simpler & SAFER.
